GUI clearly structured. Decent sound, especially when the 'Fatner' function is turned on. The morphing waveform feature is nice when playing live, but automating the morph either via automation clip or event editor crashed FL Studio 12.5 repeatedly. Good variety of LFO shapes. It would be desired to be able to control the morph by an LFO and/or envelope from within the VST. Many of the factory presets sound too similar, not demonstrating the full range of the plugin's capabilities. Pitch envelope is useful for effects. The entire synth seems to be detuned by one semtitone, i.e. hearing a C# when pressing C note on either built-in or external MIDI keyboard. It's easy to correct in the DAW, but don't know what to make of that. Overall, Little-V 1.3 has potential and would become a great synth with an update and a few bug fixes. |

UPDATE: The synth has been updated to version 2. Comes in 32-bit and 64-bit now. The global detuning error was removed. A few new features (e.g. phase control, ring modulation, fattner control, reverb) were added. Lightmarkers were added around the knobs. Presets are the same, but overall the plugin seems to sound more noisy or breathy now, and therefore also less clear and crisp. Note sure whether this is supposed to be like that as the difference is quite noticeable. In a quick test, automation of the waveform morph caused no crashes of FL Studio as it had done in V1. Overall, there have been some major improvements, but the sound quality has suffered compared to V1. |
