The on board sequencer honestly captures the vibe of the old Roland TB303 my band had 25 years ago! It is not perfect but still sounds good. Run Creakbox through a tube/distortion effect and a tempo delay and it will play nicely with others in a mix. Accepts midi automation and is easy to program. Bottom line- if you do not own a real Roland TB303, Propellerhead's Rebirth, or Audio Realism's ABL2, then get this.
Possibly the one of the best TB303 sound-alikes you will ever get for FREE!
I have given it 4/5 because it seems to start as soon as the sequencer starts (Open ModPlug Tracker) - perhaps it is why it is a demo!
The author may have stumbled across the non free TB303 emulators (Silverbox etc) and left this one with a few bugs.
Anyone that likes to sequence music could possibly work around its pitfalls and even though it wont scream like an expensive TB303 VSTi, it does have a truely nice sound for its price!
I have to give Creakbox 5 rating because of it's outstanding sound, built in sequencer and unique interpretation of the 80's classic TB 303.My only complaint are random note dropouts in SONAR.Q? Why is Creakbox demo and how can I get the full programme?thanks Pat
